Pure, natural handmade Tibetan incense, manufactured according to ancient Tibetan manuscripts, is the specialty of the Ven. Tulku Popa who lives in Tashi Jong, in India. Each of the traditional four Lama Chodpa incenses contains over 30 medicinal herbs and other natural precious substances.
Tibetan tradition is strictly adhered to when making Lama Chodpa incense. The artisanal process mandates using the purest possible substances in exact proportions, some of which have been blessed. The carefully dried ingredients are individually ground (using a pestle and mortar), blended by hand, mixed into a paste which is squeezed into 5 or 8 inch lengths and then dried. They are then hand packed in protective cardboard tubing, enveloped in screen printed hand-made paper and wax sealed using an auspicious sign seal. This incense making has created work for several Indian villagers from the lay community in Tashi Jong in India.
The proceeds from the sale of this incense are used for welfare projects of Friends of Nub Gon Monastery® Society. Projects include reforestation and special plantation, building libraries and schools, and so, so, so much more. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
